I've taught in Hastings-on-Hudson, NY. since 1998. I started teaching 5th through 12th grades, and now teach exclusively in the High School. Over the years I've taught all the foundation studio classes and most of the high school electives. Currently I teach digital foundation classes, digital media electives, film-based photography and darkroom.
I have the best of both worlds. In my 35mm photography courses, students crave the satisfaction of making something; they love mastering camera controls, determining exposure, shooting, processing film, going into the darkroom with negatives and discovering enlarging skills... it must fill some deep urge. Students are in the darkroom morning, noon and night.
In my digital classes, students begin to master the magic of the digital workplace and to understand the visual culture that they inhabit.
